Emotionally, I feel like I'm in a holding pattern. I'm definitely in a slump, and I've had a few bad days since my last entry, but not bad enough that I've needed to call out of work or cancel plans which is good. I've added some extra reminders on my phone for the daily things that tend to slip which is helping me maintain some semblance of a routine outside of showing up for my obligations and not myself. I also forced myself to go to the gym today for a run and some strength training as it is solidly spring, and I need to get back to it. I feel better for it, though I know it'll be an uphill battle convincing myself to go until I'm through this. It's nice to look at this and know what it is and how to work around it and know that I'm handling it better than I ever have even if the feelings are the same.

My partner and I saw HEALTH (with Desire and Carpenter Brut) a couple weeks ago down at Showbox SoDo. I've never been to a show down in SoDo, but it was a nice enough venue, and parking was a lot easier than I expected. I imagine that maybe wouldn't be the case if there were other events going on at the stadiums, but it was Easter Sunday, so absolutely not, haha. The only thing that was a bummer was the merch line. It took us almost an hour to get through (not abnormal), but there was no... direction to it? So it just snaked back and forth into the standing area for the concert, and when Desire started, we were far forward enough that we were able to keep the line, but Idk what happened to the folks further behind us.

The show itself was good! Most of the concerts we go to, I'm only vaguely familiar with the bands if I know them at all, so I like to go in blind for what I don't know. Desire was a surprise as I hadn't seen them listed as an opener until we got there, and I was a little distracted by the merch situation, but I enjoyed what I saw. Carpenter Brut was super solid, really good presence, and their music was actually really up my alley. Was thrilled to see them on Bandcamp now that I am streaming service-less, and have been listening to some songs here and there. HEALTH I'm more familiar with, and was really jazzed they played a lot of my favourites. They seem like really chill dudes, and I kinda wish we could have stayed for the after party, but I was tired and starving, so we grabbed some burgers and shakes (our normal concert tradition) and headed home.

This coming weekend we're going to a smaller venue to see a smaller band he likes: Rickshaw Billie's Burger Patrol. I've listened to some of their stuff before, and it's fun, but I haven't listened to their newest album which I'm assuming will be most of what they play, so that'll be a treat!
